Andrew Purvis

Former star recruit of the Australian Secret Intelligence Agency, Andrew Purvis threw away a promising career in international espionage to devote himself to the visual arts. The attributes that enabled him to excel as covert operative have now been applied to a unique body of work; Andrew specialises in double identities, forged documents and elaborate fictions. The legacy of his former occupation can still be detected in his artistic practice, most notably a pronounced classical Persian influence from the years he spent destabilising the Hussein regime in Iraq. Andrew now works as a freelance writer and artist. [Information redacted by the Australian Government]
