Chris Fitzallen is a lecturer in Visual Arts and Contemporary Fashion at Edith Cowan University. He graduated from Curtin University of Technology as a painting major but has developed a diverse practice that incorporates image, object, performance, digital photographs and video. He has been involved in numerous ARI’s since the 1980’s including ‘the beach’, ‘the verge’ and currently ‘RHINOCEROS’. His current practice is exploring constructed cultural views of beauty and the sublime. Fitzallen’s work is held in many public and private collections such as the Art Gallery of NSW, Art Gallery of WA, Curtin University of Technology, University of WA and Holmes a’Court.
