A range of mediums from resins to silk have been explored in both 2D and 3D form and shown for friends, family and those interested at about three year intervals in suitably chosen venues.

I am interested in bodies as material and as sites for intervention, in evocative objects, and in the aesthetics of care: prolonged, relational, affective, embodied encounters. My artistic practice is concerned with the aestheticisation of bodies, alternative possibilities for care, and the ambiguities of embodiment in a biotechnological era. I explore these concepts through biology, sculpture and performance, using artistic and scientific tools to examine the nexus of bodies, meaning and culture. I am currently a candidate for a Master of Science (Biological Arts) at SymbioticA UWA and have a background in biotechnology, environmental science, and contemporary art.

Sebastian Befumo is a 2011 Bachelor of Contemporary Arts (Visual Art) graduate from Edith Cowan University. His creative practice has focused on drawing, painting and sculpture, but has also involved film and photography. Throughout his studies he has exhibited publicly and been awarded residencies in the wider community. Currently, he is in the process of developing a new exhibition in Perth, which will run during June 2012. In his artworks he re-uses different objects and materials, hoping to create a dialogue between space, object/material and the viewer. The work consequently involves a discussion about their identity within a constructed environment.

Emily Boyd really wants to achieve; not because of what qualifications she can or can’t place on a piece of paper, but because of what she can paint on to one. It’s a shame that it doesn’t work like that. She paints in her room, alone, listening to what she calls ‘playlists of (questionable) productiveness’, hoping that people will notice the correlation between how many tentacles she includes in her work and the number of hopes and dreams she has. Emily also tries to incorporate what she knows about archival materials and museum practice into her art work.
