Tissue Culture & Art Project

The Tissue Culture and Art Project (TC&A) is a collaboration between Oron Catts and Ionat Zurr, exploring the use of tissue technologies as a medium for artistic expression. TC&A have exhibited extensively all over the world. Selected recent exhibitions include: Pig Wings, GV Art Gallery, London UK (2011); National Art Museum of China, Beijing (2011); Odd Neolifism at 21 Century; Art in the First Decade, Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane, Australia (2010-11); and Pig Wings & Victimless Leather- A Prototype of Stitch-less Jacket grown in a Technoscientific “Body”, as part of the Design and the Elastic Mind exhibition, Museum of Modern Art, New York (2008). Catts and Zurr founded SymbioticA, The Centre of Excellence in Biological Arts, at the School of Anatomy and Human Biology, University of Western Australia.
